: FMG – Head of Agribusiness Centre
While I was born and raised in the city I have spent the best part of 25 years living and working in and around rural communities. My career has been predominantly in the financial services sector, most recently as Head of the Agribusiness Centre for FMG based in the Manawatu. My husband Rory and I have two children, Sam and Georgia.
If I could make one change in our sector it would be to continue to challenge the status quo ensuring our rural sector remains as innovative tomorrow as it is today. Remaining commercially sound without compromising the environment or the safety of its people is so paramount.
Escalator 2016 provided me with the opportunity to really focus on my development. For me it was a journey of self-discovery about what success really means to me. It taught me that each of us have a key role to play in the lives of others and while it’s great to aspire to governance and senior leadership positions, we are all leaders in this sector and we just need to find and embrace our niche. I say be your story, own it, live it, love it. As Escalator Alumni women we have a voice which grows stronger every year as each cohort graduates – we use that voice to effect positive change in the sector both as individuals and as a wider group.
